History Teacher

An Independent International School, the School is accredited by Cambridge Examinations and awarded an IB World School Status in 2015 for the Diploma Programme and looking into the Primary Years Programme (PYP) as a future path to take. It’s a BSO school, also the only FOBISIA School in Mongolia. The School aims at delivering holistic education while focusing on celebrating cultural and personal values. Requirements

The successful candidate for ESM teacher position will have:

  • Relevant University qualifications (e.g. Bachelor of Education with a designation in the subject to be taught)
  • 2+ years of exemplary teaching experience in the classroom
  • Knowledge and practice of subject matter, curriculum planning, and assessment practices,
  • Proven ability to communicate in a professional manner with children, parents, staff and the general public
  • Proven ability to follow organizational policies and procedures in an appropriate and timely manner
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • An interest and desire in being a part of an innovative co-curricular experience for ESM students
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment where teachers demonstrate the principles of inquiry-based decision-making with other teachers, staff at all levels, and with the Head of School
  • Technological acumen and experience utilizing hardware, software essentials in a classroom environment, and social media
  • Experience in teaching with inquiry based approach is an asset
  • IB programme experience is preferable
  • Two recommendation letters from the recent employers
  • National work permit regulations stipulate that applicants must be no older than 50.

Are you qualified to teach in a UK, US or IB Curriculum School?

The Majority of vacancies advertised on www.itrcjobs.com require you to have either a US teachers license or UK qualified teacher status (QTS). Different types of International Schools look for specific qualifications depending on the curriculum they offer, UK Schools require QTS,  US Schools will need a US teachers licence and IB Schools will be mainly looking for teachers with a teaching qualification from one of the countries listed below or South Africa.

If you qualified in the UK your qualification (BEds, PGCEs, GTP,) will include training for QTS. Teachers who have qualified  from the European Economic Area, Switzerland, Australia, Canada, New Zealand or the USA, can apply for QTS here… It may take up to 4 months to process your application. If you’re successful, you’ll be awarded QTS or partial QTS. You won’t need further training and will be exempt from having to serve a statutory induction period. 

Teachers who do not hold a US teacher license or QTS and who qualified in countries not listed above will normally need to complete an accredited training programme to achieve QTS. If you are interested in teaching internationally more details of how you can qualify are available here…
